An award-winning educational program integrating STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math) and other educational models and strategies for all ages.
The Revolving Museum’s Visionary School (VS) is our innovative educational program for youth and adult alike. Through the simple act of art making -- whether visual, musical, literary or theatrical-- and community building events, individuals have an opportunity to discover their unique creative talents (sometimes for the first time!) VS integrates a wide-range of pedagogies including Holistic Education, STEAM curriculums, collaborative classrooms, and nature-based learning. To date, The Revolving Museum’s Visionary School has created over 100 successful public art projects, exhibitions, special events, and entrepreneurial business ventures. We firmly believe that the arts and art education can be a transformational catalyst for intellectual, cultural, social, ecological, economical, political and personal change.
STEAM Education is an approach to learning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics as access points for guiding student inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking.

The Visionary School is guided through the hands-on process of creating a public art project – from idea initiation and planning to object making and installation. Students will learn how art and creativity can impact all aspects of the community and be able to apply concepts back to their academic learning. It can also be implemented for an hour duration to a year-long residence. All workshops will participants with artistic, technical, social, administrative, marketing and business skills, allowing them to experience the range of skills necessary to accomplish successful public art projects. As a result of participating, students will gain the ability to analyze their own strengths, weaknesses, set personal and vocational goals, and have the confidence, motivation, and abilities to carry them out, including the ability to participate in community life and to effect positive social change. Group critiques, discussions, and field trips will also help maintain good communication and sensitivity and will provide support to students.
The Visionary School is dedicated to support the community at large in the best way it can—by giving them undivided attention, alternative spaces, and the support to share their work with a large public. The recognition of individual creative vision becomes, to the participating community members, a model for personal empowerment and community celebration. Once a personal relationship has been established, collaborative art making becomes an essential part of their creative process. The Visionary School will produce public art projects, exhibitions, and events of varying sizes and themes. Projects include artistic responses to abandoned or public spaces, collaborations between artists and youth/community groups, interactive artistic workshops with the public, and other public art activities and events. The Visionary School will highlight how collaborative public art can provide a unique opportunity to positively transform the lives of countless numbers of individuals. Art has the mysterious ability to educate, entertain, comfort, challenge, heal and inspire people both individually and collectively.
